Three sizes, maximum flexibility, precise tension
New chain tensioner range from norelem
With different sizes and tensioning force options, robust materials, assembly aids and retensioning options, the new chain tensioner range from norelem reliably covers almost every requirement in mechanical engineering – from confined installation situations to heavy-duty chain applications.
Chain tensioners are used in a wide range of machines and systems. Their main task is to compensate for the gradual elongation of a chain caused by wear by ensuring constant chain tension. This in turn increases the service life and reliability of the chain drive.
norelem chain tensioners operate in a free-swinging and spring-loaded manner – excessive surface pressures are avoided, while the total force from the chain weight and centrifugal force in the slack chain is optimally controlled. Installation is simple and is ideally carried out close behind the drive wheel in order to keep the length of the slack chain as short as possible. The chain tensioner housings are made of plastic or steel, with stainless steel housings also available for the most demanding requirements. The sliding profiles are made of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene PE-UHMW.
